The cyclone’s path directly threatens Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and parts of northern NSW, including the flood-prone town of Lismore.

In response to the growing threat, 21 Queensland councils have activated emergency plans, allowing stores to restock essential supplies 24/7. Reports of empty shelves and surging demand for storm necessities have surfaced across affected areas.

According to meteorologist Angus Hines, Cyclone Alfred is currently about 600km off the Queensland-NSW coast and moving westward. As it nears land, conditions will worsen, with peak impacts expected Thursday night into Friday morning.
