Kathmandu, Nepal – Ten Nepali people who went to the United States without permission are coming back to Nepal today. They will land in Kathmandu at 10 AM on a special flight. Before coming to Nepal, the plane will first stop in Albania to drop off other people.
More Nepali People Being Sent Back
In the past few months, more and more Nepali people have been sent back from the U.S.:
January – 6 people
February – 20 people
March – 1 person
Also, three Nepali people were sent back from Panama during this time.
Many Nepali people try to go to the U.S. for jobs and a better life. But if they don’t have the right papers, they can be sent back. The U.S. has been sending back people who do not have legal permission to stay.
Many Nepali People Still in the U.S.
During Joe Biden’s presidency, about 9,000 Nepali people went to the U.S. without permission. Right now, 2,008 Nepali people are in U.S. detention centers, waiting to see what will happen to them.
The U.S. plans to send back 1.45 million people who do not have the right papers. Many Nepali people may be part of this group.
What This Means for Nepali People
Many Nepali people dream of living in the U.S. to earn money and have a better future. But without proper papers, they can be caught and sent back. The number of Nepali deportees is rising, and families in Nepal are worried about their loved ones.
The 10 people arriving today are just a small part of a big problem. More Nepali people may be sent back soon. This shows how difficult it is to live in another country without legal permission.
